In our walk with Christ, it’s a fact that we will face attacks from the enemy. Attacks can look different depending on the person but the root is always the same. The enemy is after your soul. It would make his day if you caved into every lie he feeds to you and to think he has solidified your placement in eternal suffering.
The enemy’s native language is lying. He doesn’t know how to speak in any other way. For every lie the enemy speaks to you, there is an alternative Biblical truth. Your ability to identify lies from the enemy will strengthen as you spend more time reading the word and understanding God’s voice. You’ll be able to know right off the bat if what you are hearing aligns with the word of God or is the direct opposite.
You must be aware that your mind is not a playground. It is a battlefield. Once you come to this understanding, you are already moving in the right direction. If the enemy can get you to believe a lie, you’ll live as though it were true. We must combat the lies with the truth (the word of God). Once you capture a lie, you must replace it with Biblical truth and begin to declare the word over your life. Follow the example below to apply this strategy into your own life.
Lie: “God has forgotten about me”
Truth: “The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged”
Declaration: God will never and has never forgotten about me. He is with me always. I am the child of God that is concerned about me (Psalms 139:17)
