Identity in Christ, not in the stars

In today’s society there is an uproar of new age spirituality that is rooted in the desire to find identity. People desire to know the way that they were created, the ins and outs of their autonomy, but they search for it in all the wrong places. Some believe they found their identity in the stars, rocks, and planets but the only way to truly know the way you were created is to seek the creator. You would not go to an android company to fix an apple Iphone. If you want to know how to use something you go to the manual. Why would you put your trust in a created thing when you can put it in the creator?

In our relationship with Christ we must seek him to know the way that he has created us. You can not go to anyone or anything that is not God to find your identity or you’ll be deceived. As children of God, our identities are rooted in Christ. Not in the world. Not in man. Not in our loved ones or spouses. It’s in Christ only. The stars and the planets can not dictate your personality. God has created each of us uniquely and individually, with our own sets of traits, gifts, and talents.

Remember to lean on God and keep your eyes set on the things above. Not in things that are of the world and temporary. Once you begin to seek him about the way he has created you, the way you walk through life will begin to shift and you will have confidence in what he says about you.
